The secret to succeeding in anything and being extraordinary is to take an interest and stop at the things that everyone else overlooks.
Get obsessed with the nitty gritty detail and become a master of details. Understand the micro and never overlook anything.
The seed of the biggest mistakes is usually under things that people thought were obvious and took them like dogma, when in fact, they were totally wrong, but hard to see why and how they were wrong.
Understanding something from first principles and making no assumptions takes longer, but it is the only way to build extraordinary knowledge and skill. In a sense, this is the only shortcut: The absolute rejection of shortcuts.
